What can I expect to experience?
Equine-assisted psychotherapy sessions are conducted on the ground, and there is no riding. Clients are invited to interact with the horse while the equine team offers support and makes meaningful connections to a client's internal story.
Clients can expect to feel a range of emotions and to feel challenged to stretch their comfort zone while relying on support from the equine team.
Horses are acutely sensitive to their environments and innately curious about new people in their space. They are also powerful and not easily controlled. These characteristics challenge clients to increase their awareness of how they impact others and how others impact them.
